ICT Client Area Login now offers you to use a Two-Factor Authentication login

Thursday, November 15, 2018

Your ICT Client Area Login now offers you to use a Two-Factor Authentication login.
TOTP requires that a user enter a 6 digit code that changes every 30 seconds to complete login.  This works with mobile apps such as OATH Token and Google Authenticator.

To enable your account to use the Two-Factor Authentication follow these steps:
1) Download the Google Authenticator on your device.
2) Login to your Client Area and Locate "Your Info" box and click on "Update". In the "My Account" box click on "Security Settings".
Below the title "Two-Factor Authentication" click on "Enable" and follow the popup instructions to enable your Two-Factor Authentication.

During the enable process you will be presented with a QR code to scan using their smartphone or tablet device with the Google Authenticator App.
Once this is scanned, your device will then store authorization to generate a pass code and authentication to your ICT Cleint Area Login Process.
Every 30 seconds, a new 6 digit code will be generated through their OATH application of choice which will be used as their second form of Authentication during login to your ICT Client Area.

Why do I need this?

Many individuals tend to use the same password for all of their login points. In the event that a malicious users gains access to one login of you or your staff, they could potentially gain access to all other login-required sites – Like your ICT Client Area.

Two-Factor Authentication puts a stop to that by requiring users who successfully login in with a user & password combination to use a physical device they posses for further verification.
